Chicago & Illinois Personality Assessments

Mediocre Performers to Super Stars

Assessments are a crucial aspect of the hiring process – not only do they assure successful internal hiring, but they also help existing employees use their talents more effectively. A candidate’s personality and cognitive abilities are two of the greatest predictors of job success – for any position. More insightful than resumes, education, references or interviews, personality/cognitive ability assessments uncover the objective information you need to make the right hiring decisions.

Why should you take the additional time to individually assess each candidate? A recent Harvard Business Review article reports that 80 percent of job failures can be traced directly to mistakes made in the selection process. And the hard costs involved in hiring – advertising, search agency fees, reference checks, start up and training costs – are only the tip of the financial iceberg.

The bottom line: To build a progressive organization, you need the best human capital. Let Alliance HR Network help you identify top-performing “A” players through our extensive Candidate Assessment Process, and watch your productivity soar.

The Evolution of Alliance HR Assessments

When Alliance HR Network first became strategically aligned with Achievement Tec, a group that has been providing assessments to employers worldwide for more than 40 years, our clients would send applicants and employees to our offices to be tested and interviewed. Utilizing the most up-to-date standardized tests – Wonderlic, Thurston, California Intelligence Test, Stanford Binet, 16PF® of IPAT, MMPI and Strong Campbell – our staff psychologists would then decide if the candidates correctly fit our clients’ open positions.

While an effective process, some of our leading clients, such as Tandy Corporation, American Mayflower, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Texas Turnpike Authority and others, wanted something more. Something Better. Faster. More Accurate. More Economical.

Leading the Industry

To fulfill the expanding needs of our clients, the Alliance HR Network staff psychologists created our own unique assessments. Designed to ascertain how accurately a candidate responds to questions, the assessments measure six Mental Aptitudes and 10 Personality Dimensions. To date, more than 2 million people have been assessed using our systems, with no adverse findings by any employers and no out-of-court settlements against any employers for using our assessments.

To complement our comprehensive assessment systems, we created the world’s leading computer PC software, which compares an individual’s mental aptitudes and personality traits to the aptitudes and traits (and the levels required) for success in a particular job. These aptitudes and traits became known as “benchmarks” for that job. Benchmarks are established through the following evaluations:

Job Description: An Alliance HR Network consultant performs an analysis of the job description and determines the traits required for success in the position.

Achiever Database: Achiever, a nationally recognized assessment instrument, has performed thousands of job studies that identify the mental aptitudes and personality traits of successful people in all types of jobs, within all types of companies. These studies, which represent a concurrent validation process, are stored in a vast database of benchmarks by job that can be used to initially assess and compare applicants against proven success standards.

Benchmark Study: Prior to assessing the applicants for a new position, Alliance HR Network studies the employer’s successful employees within a specific job, and the benchmark for that job is then established for that specific employer. This creates a customized, validated approach to the selection process. Applicants can then be assessed against the employer’s specific benchmark to determine whether or not the individual has the traits necessary for success in that particular job.

Credibility

At Alliance HR Network, we maintain the strict credibility of our assessment programs. Our experience, along with our continuously evolving assessment methods, ensures that we provide the most advanced, comprehensive and effective assessments within the human resources industry.

Because our assessments do not include pass or fail scores, and hold only a slight possibility of causing an adverse effect on a protected group, the Office of Federal Contract Compliance has stated that there is no need to validate each assessment within each company.

In addition, the Achiever program maintains construct validity of its assessments, and it conducts continuous ongoing concurrent validation studies for clients establishing “benchmarks” for their respective jobs.

Selection Assessments

The following assessments help ensure that you choose wisely when filling your open job positions:

  • The Achiever : For sales, supervisory, management, technical, engineering or other (non-hourly) jobs, the Achiever uncovers whether the applicant has the aptitudes and behaviors required to successfully perform the job, based on each company’s own successful people in that job category.
  • The Guardian : For mid-level or hourly administrative positions.
  • The Scoreboard/The Performer : For lower-level, entry, hourly and other blue-collar jobs.

Learning Needs Assessments

Learning Needs Assessments provide a narrative explaining an individual’s strengths and "learning needs,” along with a score pattern that benchmarks the individual’s current level. The reports recommend online learning modules that coincide with the individual’s learning needs. If the employer subscribes to online learning, he or she can click on the recommendation in the report and link directly to that learning module.

Alliance HR Network also recommends specific “development needs” books within the reports, where applicable, and the recipient of the report can click on the book titles and be linked to information about the recommended book and how to order the book online. Fee: Per Assessment.

We offer the following Learning Needs Assessments:

  • The Career Competency : A highly in-depth and detailed report that covers 16 competencies.
  • Knowledge Reports : Includes Sales Knowledge, Customer Service Knowledge and Leadership Knowledge.

Testimonials

“Thanks for your role in bringing us new tools to aid in the employee selection process. The Achiever Evaluation was very helpful and objective. The questions developed as part of the behavior assessment was valuable too. [The candidate] accepted the offer yesterday and I'm thrilled to have a person with sound values and proven background. I had four viable candidates for the position and got the best one.”
